This is quite possibly the best tasting no added sugar pie you’ll ever eat. Made with our premium saskatoons just like our regular saskatoon pie, this version also has some of our great saskatoon juice added for body, and is sweetened with Xylitol. Xylitol is a sugar alcohol which is typically made from birch trees or non-GMO corn. It is an approved sweetener by Diabetes Canada as this sweetener does not cause an insulin spike common with regular sugar. So, it is safer for diabetics to consume and doesn’t have that nasty metallic after-taste of other artificial sweeteners have. Just don’t feed any pie to your dog as Xylitol is poisonous to dogs. (Who would be feeding a saskatoon pie to their dog anyways?? Nobody we know, that’s for sure.)

I bought the no sugar saskatoon pie for Easter family dessert, from the North Amaranth store Calgary. WOW it is delicious!! After I finished eating a slice of this pie, I thought to myself, I need to write to this company and tell them what a DELIGHT their pie was. Thank you for sharing your wonderful pies and berries!! You have definitely mastered this recipe!
This recipe for the no sugar pie is sooo good. It’s perfectly sweet and the flavor of the berries really shines. We all LOVED it, and will buy MANY more. This is now my “go-to” dessert. I’ve already purchased the strawberry Rhubarb for mothers day 🙂
